The Beauty of Imagination
As your toddler edges closer to 3 than 2, you can start to share more involved stories, but ones still available in the almost indestructible board book format. Three of my favorites for stretching the imagination include the classic Where the Wild Things Are at $8.99, or the creative exploits of a little boy and a crayon in Harold and the Purple Crayon at $ 7.99. A favorite of preschool educators, the titles by Laura Numeroff series, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. There’s a boxed set of these in board format at $15.99 that makes a great gift. These books are called predictable tales and are a great learning tool and interactive story where, after a number of readings, your preschooler can finish parts of the story that you begin. And be sure not to miss one of daughter Allison’s favorites at this age... The Monster at the End of this Book, available as a Little Golden book at $ 4.99. Sesame Street’s Grover will do just about anything to keep you from finishing the book… but that’s all your preschooler will want is to find the monster at the end of the book.
